Sorry for sending another reply! I also had a thought related to the
Facebook page:

There seems to be enough activity with the SIG to keep the page
interesting. If we had something to update people on only, say, once every
month or two, I would question the value a bit. It's easy to give multiple
people ownership rights over a Facebook page, so any officer could add
material, make changes, etc. Of course, there are Facebook pages and also
Facebook groups - the groups allow people to add "documents", if that would
be of any use.

To follow up a bit on Gretchen's comments about Twitter, what we actually
have is not a Twitter account but a Twitter "list" that I "curate". It's a
list of accounts I thought might be interesting to SIG members - basically
an aggregator. As she mentioned, I've only added 4 Twitter users to the
list, so we could certainly use more metrics-related Twitter accounts, if
anyone knows of them. If there are only 7 people who are subscribed to the
list, I don't find it that surprising.

I guess the point I'm making is, we're not attempting to use Twitter to
make any announcements or host any discussions - and certainly not to
supplant the listserv. Right now the Twitter list just collects posts from
others. If we had our own Twitter account we could add those tweets to the
mix, of course. Jonathan's message about Research Trends and the requests
about advertising new issues did make me wonder if we should have a Twitter
account for that sort of thing, so let me know if you'd like me to set one
up and be active about making announcements.

And, finally, the new officers are up on the website, and I did add
Research Trends to our Resources page. I have no excuse for the delay on
updating the officers; it just slipped my mind.

Best,
Angela
