Our client, an international search firm, seeks a Knowledge Manager to be
aligned to their CIO practice. This is a new position.
Knowledge Managers are responsible for:

         *       Leading the transformation of information management
activities within their industry or functional practice.
         *       Providing proactive business intelligence that will help
drive client and business development activities.
         *       Coordinating with search teams on talent development,
value-added business analysis, and other business initiatives.
         *       Working with the other KM's and the Business Process
Reengineering Team, responsible for developing the detailed project plans
for the beta programs as well as measuring and reporting on the results.

         *       Utilizing metrics to report on success of talent banks and
other KMC efforts.

         *       Directing data mining initiatives to determine gaps in the
system relative to current and future search needs.
         *       Managing research activities of KMC researchers, ensuring
that they are using the best resources and continuing to identify and build
the knowledge of the industry or function-specific resources.
         *       Developing marketing and business development products that
demonstrate the  knowledge and success in the marketplace for the CIO
segment.

         *       Monitoring, tracking and distributing overall human capital
and compensation trends by market.

Initially, the Knowledge Managers primary focus will be on building an
industry or functionally focused team at the (Knowledge Management Center)
KMC, developing quality standards and templates for deliverables, and
establishing their role within this new framework. Longer term, the KMs,
working together with the practice managers, will develop practice
strategies relative to talent banking and business development.





KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

General qualifications

                 Knowledge Managers must have an established track record of
creatively developing solutions to information needs, both strategically and
in practice.  The ideal candidates for this role must be entrepreneurial
self-starters who enjoy the challenges and rewards of information work in a
dynamic and changing environment. KMs must enjoy shaping the service
delivery processes, contributing to the development of support tools and
building successful teams to meet the needs of their practice. A high level
of comfort with the ambiguity and uncertainty that comes with rapid growth
and change is essential.


Specific qualifications

*       Extensive knowledge of business concepts and terminology in specific
industries and functions, understanding organization structure, and the
ability to interpret annual or financial reports.

*       Strong track record of working in a team environment where ability
to manage expectations, maintain service levels, and customer satisfaction
is essential, and rapid response to business opportunities and just-in-time
product delivery are key components.

*       Specific knowledge of the Chief Information Officer and other
technology focused     functions and/or experience serving the IT function
is desired.

*       Experience working with a geographically dispersed client base.
*
*       Superior analytic and conceptual capabilities combined with good
judgment.

*       Ability to work in fast-paced environment; high energy.

*       Organized and detail-oriented.

*       Effective verbal and written skills.

*       Adept with various computing platforms and familiarity with
database management software, Internet-based software and office
productivity software to include Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

*       Possess initiative, creativity and resourcefulness; a self-starter.

*       Strong administrative, tactical and technical skills.

*       Professional; possess high ethical standards.


Education
                 An MBA and/or MLS preferred

Previous experience

                 At least 5 years of full-time experience in a search
execution (i.e. Associate) role, with emphasis on research is desired but
not required.  Experience in a role collecting, synthesizing and
disseminating value-added information in functions such as executive search
research, investment research, marketing research, competitive intelligence,
strategic planning, strategic consulting or business information
services/publishing is ideal.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports jointly to the Head of Knowledge Management, with
dotted-line reporting to the CIO Practice Managing Partner.


POSITION LOCATION

New York or Chicago preferred.
