I always bring a clipboard to interviews and wear a lab coat and glasses.
Never had the problem you describe. But if I did, isn't it just down to
whether the idea makes sense to the person you're talking to?
I find it's always rather frustrating to be hit with a demand to justify
something very specific with secondary research, because there almost
always isn't any. Most things like navigation principles can only be
justified by reference to higher level principles, like
known psychological phenomena, or whatever. Otherwise, you're in a Douglas
Bowman situation:
