Because if you really want to get to the bottom of an issue, doing so in
under 140 characters makes it all so much easier! :-)
I'm sure part of it's the old "alternative channels" thing though. We're in
a golden age of experimentation in that regard, so I'd not be surprised if
email lists with all their one-trick pony-ness are getting abandoned for
things like LinkedIn groups or Facebook. In fact personally I'd welcome that
trend since at least it holds out of the possibility of people making better
connections in and around the central mechanic of the communication. Here on
this list, we're little more than disembodied email addresses.
