Content strategists analyze and describe the taxonomy of a web site to
work with a Content Management System, They describe the type and style
of content text for the site for a copywriter and supervises the text
content written for each page. but may, or may not, write copy
themselves. The content strategist also creates and maintains the style
guide for the site. In this context, collaboration is with the
information architect primarily. Both work with the visual designer to
define style.

The deliverables tend to be a bit collaborative which is great because we bring expertise from different areas. I make a wireframe that proposes a layout and example text. The designer and copywriter use that as a framework for what they do, but aren't tied to it. We discuss and I usually end up adjusting the wireframe for a better layout and stronger copy. I don't add the specific graphical elements, but I like to make sure their position is noted correctly.

The designer and I work together (with the copywriter) to ensure that the final experience looks right, feels right, and sounds right.

I've been writing strategy docs, creating sitemaps and content inventories, wireframing, and producing experience diagrams. Prior to my work, research-backed personas were created as well as an analysis of which Social Media tactics would be appropriate for those audiences.
