We have a great opportunity for a freelance IA/FAwith solid experience in e-commerce and transactional analysis.  Experience with the publishing industry is helpful, but not required.  This gig starts October 1, 2008 and will extend through the end of 2008.  Additional related work may be available throughout 2009.   The office is located in Midtown, Manhattan.  The team is exceptionally talented and fun.  Compensationis commiserate with candidate's experience.

E-Commerce Information Architect/Functional Analystworks with cross-functional team to gather, outline and document requirements, features and functionality for customer interactions with a new commerce system for approximately 20 prominent brands.   
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Document functional specifications for various aspects of the online subscriber funnel and life cycle; Create and maintain related other documentation including site maps and wireframes. Support development and QA teams during development and test phases; answer questions and provide more detail on specifications on an as-needed basis.
 
SKILLS REQUIRED / EXPERIENCE
§     3-5 years working as an information architect, interaction designer, functional analyst, or user interface designer in a consumer or media oriented web development environment.
§     Extensive understanding of transactional design and interaction modeling for e-commerce oriented web sites 
§     Knowledge of content management systems, graphic design software, and flow chart software.
§     Experience creating user flows and use case documentation
§     Demonstrable ability to translate requirements into architectural recommendations. 
§     Proficiency in current web development technologies and software applications, including but not limited to: html, css, xml, dynamic data delivery, and content management systems. 
§     Deep understanding of current user-centered interactive design philosophies and methodologies.
§     Superior communication skills including the ability to communicate the vision of the user experience and functionality to the team, negotiate divergent viewpoints, and build consensus.
§     An exceptional ability to pay attention to details while keeping the big picture in mind.
§     Initiative, excellent judgment, independence, and solid problem solving skills. 
§     Ability to function with flexibility in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with minimal supervision.
