Exactly.

And, in other words, size doesn't matter.

Number of templates is an indication of how many different information 
displays or viewports you have. This could be useful. Imagineo online 
banking, for example, where one might have a template for:
- bank account balance
- mutual fund balance
- investment account balance
along with associated templates for transactions.

But I'd still be dubious. One firm might choose to have a single 
template for balance & transaction based on account type, while another 
might choose to have a single "balance" template for and a  single 
"transaction template." Both could be valid solutions, and little is 
gained by counting them.

As it has been since forever, the only right answer here is the one that 
provides an answer that fits the business metrics of the site. The only 
site that ever benefited from a page count was a site with the stated 
business goal of having "X pages".
