I'll agree wholeheartedly with Donna that Google seem to have done a
pretty good job on putting this together and that it provides an
excellent channel for dissemination of pertinent election news from a
range of sources. I will say however that the general apathy of the
Australian voting public (100% of >18s technically as we have
compulsory suffrage) means that very few will read or consume this in
the grand scheme of things and what will happen once again is that a
significant proportion of the electorate will simply mark the boxes 1-
n down/across the ballot paper or make a snap decision that makes no
sense as they enter the polling booth. The only saving grace we have
is that the incumbent government is currently so unpopular, there is
likely to be a change of government, possibly in a landslide.
But this list shouldn't be a forum for party political discourse...
So yes, agreeing with Donna. It's pretty cool. For those who care
enough to visit and use.
