I've seen multiple RSS feeds per site a few times but I don't remember what
app they were using. Having arbitrarily assignable feeds is not a common
feature though.

She could have (static) pages (not on RSS feeds) and (dynamic) posts (that
are syndicated) on WordPress and MovableType, I believe.

Another idea is to write a one paragraph intro/abstract/summary for each
post in text, place a 'more or 'read further' demarcation that then takes
you to the full article. This way at least the text-to-image relationships
are not silently bastardized in the feeds.
