Actually, the muscles that coordinate your fingers attach on or about at
your elbow or below or distally (toward your fingertips).  For instance,
you could have your arm in a sling and handwriting would not be an issue,
unless you're talking about a nerve issue, but that would run from your
spine all the way to the tips of your fingers.

Surprisingly, a lot of those repetitive stress disorders aren't truly
"RSI" in as much as they are things that have to do with improper usage of
tools such as keyboards and the almost unavoidable mouse.  Most RSIs come
from persons in factory scenarios when they're continually performing very
same motions time and again without breaks, etc.

I mean, how many people you know that are truly typing and mousing for 8
hours a day anymore?  Sure, it happens, but is it the common majority?

I'd like to know who would use this type of surface to perform detailed
actions for an extended period of time, first and foremost.
