Jonas Lowgren (http://webzone.k3.mah.se/k3jolo/) is a professor of IxD
at Malmo in Sweden.
There is a link from the above referenced page to his article on pliability.
He uses the term (maybe incorrectly, maybe not) to describe an
aesthetic quality of interaction.

I.e. "Google maps is more pliable than Mapquest in how you navigate N/S/E/W."

I think Bumptop 's desktop is more pliable than the MacOS/Windows
incarnations for similar reasons. There is a better and more direct
tightness and reaction from the users action to the systems
interaction. I like the paper's use of "physics". I think adding
physics in this way does increase pliability.
