This month's NYC IxDA event will feature Chris Fahey, who will talk about
how style whether we like it or not, is a core aspect of our work. If you'd

**Interaction Design Style**

IAs and UX designers are often exceedingly careful to draw a sharp
distinction between style and substance. But in fact style has always  been
a powerful design tool, acting as a rich resource for innovation  and new
solutions to design challenges. Style is a dynamic, self-correcting  system;
it is a pattern language; it bridges branding and functionality,
desirability and usefulness; it is, in fact, often the bridge between mere
"best practices" and true innovation.

Join Christopher Fahey in a discussion of how, historically, style awareness
is a core aspect of innovative design. If you'd like to attend, please send

About Christopher Fahey:
Christopher is a founding partner and the information architecture practice
lead at Behavior, an award-winning New York web design consultancy.  At
Behavior, he has worked with diverse clients including HBO, BusinessWeek,
The Smithsonian Institution, McGraw-Hill Professional, JPMorgan Chase,
ResortQuest, The National Geographic Channel, AARP, and The Onion. Chris

Chris has spoken at the 2003 and 2007 ASIS&T IA Summits, at the  2007 SXSW
Interactive conference, and has taught interaction design at Brooklyn
College, FIT, and the City College of New York.
