From: "Ziya Oz" listera at earthlink.net
"What¹s important is that, for the first time, so many great ideas
and processes have been assembled in one device, iterated until they
squeak, and made accessible to normal human beings. That¹s the
genius of Steve Jobs; that¹s the genius of Apple."
I couldn't agree with Tog more. Job's brilliance lies in identifying
an interface that's a great leap forward in experience and then
running with it. Putting billions of dollars behind an idea that
hasn't yet succeeded in the marketplace.

That said, very few people know that it's not really the first time
a multi-touch interface has been incorporated in a cellphone. Last
year in November, Taiwanese manufacturer FIC introduced a phone that
had a similar multi-touch interface including an identical pinch
interface. It's called the GTA001. I blogged about it a few days
ago:

Since then, I've also learnt of a Nokia phone, introduced only in
Scandinavia recently in limited quantities, which too sports a
multi-touch interface. I don't have the model # of this phone yet
but I plan on getting my hands on it soon and recording the
experience.

Thanks,
Manu
