Which reflects its academic scope. (OK, it's also from Canada. :-)
There are clever implementations and approaches in it to be sure. But it's
the kind of thing that we've come to expect from a company like HP, IBM or
Sun. A demo that goes absolutely nowhere, especially on desktops. It needs a
bit of deeper thinking and contextualizing into the OS it would presumably
work with/on. Once you get to that level, a lot of holes appear. Again, as a
design exercise, the framing of the problem is problematic here. I am not
exactly sure what fundamental problem it's trying to solve is, but then
again, it's an academic work so it's a perfectly valid exploration.
