Director UX Design, Los Angeles, CA

The Director of User Experience Design will be responsible for creating
interactive user experiences. The Director will participate in creating
user interface prototypes, navigation maps and flows, site maps, wire
frames, and other deliverables for Threshold's clients. You will also be
responsible for documenting all levels of prototypes through final
specifications to include UI behaviors, user interaction models,
workflow, interaction requirements, etc.
 
General Responsibilities: 
* Employ user-centered design processes to ensure that information is
useful and usable 
* Understand and diagram relationships between site content or features 
* Communicate and document design decisions effectively using images and
text 
* Explore and select different visual/physical representations of
content or features 
* Develop controlled vocabularies and document relationships between
terms 
* Develop hierarchical classification systems for navigation or other
categorization needs 
* Create tagging schemes for information access via search, browse, or
form filling 
* Establish approach to requirements gathering, prioritizing, and
tracking 
* Establish, document, maintain and revise functional specifications 
* Document all levels of prototypes through final specifications to
include UI behaviors, user interaction models, workflow, interaction
requirements, etc. 

Qualifications and Experience: 
* At least three years hands-on experience in a senior information
design, UI design, information architecture, or creative design position

* A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 
* Some design experience and a good eye, as well as the ability to
collaborate with visual designers 
* A strong understanding of business and user requirements, and the
ability to address and advocate for the end-users experience 
* The ability to produce quality solutions independently with minimal
supervision 
* Strong conceptual understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS,
Flash, CSS, XML, etc.) 
* Experience with UI tools, including Visio and Fireworks
