For one, it¹s not the Œobvious standard.¹ (Well, don't laugh.)

There are many, many things that Visio can do that OmniGraffle can¹t begin
to address (unless you go through some seriously wicked AppleScript
sorcery). I have been using Visio all last night, for example. The new
version has data mining and pivoting features that I find quite useful in
predictive analytics based design I¹m cooking up at the moment. Visio is
good for many things when you need to connect to a whole series of Microsoft
platform assets. 

Those, however, do NOT make it an 'obvious industry standard' *for IA*. See,
that is the issue. I can't stand when people declare their own preferences
or orthodoxy, for that matter, an 'obvious industry standard.' Heck, even
Microsoft is no longer singing that tune. Let's get on with the times and
define our contexts. Enough with this 'industry standard' business.
