Quality Assurance Analyst
Our Boston area client is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst.
The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring software quality
for products and customer releases. Quality assurance includes the analysis
and interpretation of publisher business requirements, the creation of test
plans, performing testing and the creation of automated and effective test
scripts.
Tasks:
Performs manual and automated testing, identifying bugs, enhancements and
issues that may affect product release. Uses automated testing software
along with database query tools to perform testing. Provides quality
assessment of products in their test environments. Authors "bug" reports
that accurately reflect problems and errors encountered during testing, and
include steps necessary to reproduce the situation. Makes modification
recommendations and assists developers in debugging. Validates that product
release meets approved design and functionality.
Collaborates with product project team throughout development to ensure
contractual requirements are met while maintaining core product
specifications and corporate objectives.
Develops and documents quality assurance test objectives, strategies and
plans that satisfy and enhance business requirements as expounded by
management. Formats, writes and updates testing instructions.
Assists team in resolving production support issues.
Qualifications:
Minimum six years experience in Quality Assurance analysis using testing
methods and tools in a web environment.
Strong test automation experience with at least one commercial test tool,
such as Rational Robot, Mercury Interactive WinRunner, Segue SilkTest, etc.
Software testing experience required, minimum 2 years experience including
planning, developing and executing scripts.
Ability to translate business requirements into quality assurance test
cases.
Experience with bug tracking, isolation, escalation and verification.
Ability to adjust goals and priorities in a rapidly evolving business
environment.
Ability to participate and contribute on project teams, promoting
initiatives to
enhance functionality and quality of products and services.
A strong desire to learn new skills.
Strong verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of software product development life cycle and methodologies a
plus.
Experience working with multiple end user platforms including operating
systems and browsers a plus.
Backend relational database skills, including SQL querying, a plus.
Must be willing to work off-hours for product releases.
