Yes, but in my particular situation, there's almost always plenty of stress
*before* I come on the scene. I'm usually the last resort after internal and
external teams have already tried and somehow the project is still in
distress. Often enough, folks have already tried playing at the margins and
the results are less than satisfactory. (A project I'm working on now is the
oldest major app in its industry, nearly two decades old.) My bias/guidance
thus fits in with what needs to be done. I generally don't take on projects
where marginal improvements are to be preferred.

This is the part I'm curious about. :-) Does your faith (whatever it may be)
impact your design? Or put in another way: if your faith had been different
would the design output be any different? As I try to explain above, in my
case, it surely affects what I do and how I do it. Is this subconscious or a
tangible driver of work?
