Weight Watchers is looking for a full-time Information Architect for our
headquarters in New York, NY. This person will be joining a dynamic,
high-energy Creative team working on innovative and strategic projects
worldwide, including Rich Internet Applications, strategic marketing, customer
relationship management, and content findability projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a complicated, multi-faceted
product and see projects through from start to completion and into advanced
phases of sophistication.

The Information Architect is a leader on the creative team, developing site
architecture documentation and strategies that are consistent with company's
business rules and usability standards.  The Information Architect should be
able to identify user needs and meld business requirements into a user
experience strategy that is translated into wire frames, task flows, user
scenarios, and other standard documentation. Understand how to organize
content and tools and work closely with all departments to implement
processes. Have a well rounded background in Web development with experience
working with members of design and development teams and can apply those skill
towards creating superior solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain a high-level of Information Architecture and
usability standards
- Contribute to overall strategic direction and vision of projects
- Define site and application architecture and user interaction through site
maps, wire frames, user flows, user personas and scenarios, and functional
specifications
- Consult with the business teams to translate business requirements and
usability feedback into web based user interfaces
- Lead client reviews
- Coordinate with engineering team to define and manage functional requirements
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a timely delivery of projects
- Work with QA to ensure final project meets all IA requirements

EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate will have excellent and innovative Information
Architecture abilities with 3-5 years experience with architecting and
developing user interfaces for the Web, creating the required documentation.
The candidate will have been responsible for a wide variety of projects and
internet technologies and be able to develop, maintain, and lead different
project initiatives. The candidate will have worked with teams such as design,
project managers, clients and engineering to develop and design strong
solutions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail
and an ability to consistently produce solid work are required.  The candidate
should have an excellent grasp of usability and understand the challenges of
creating a successful and usable user interface.

SKILLS:
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Overall understanding of HTML, and various technologies utilized in building
web applications (HTML, CSS, DHTML and Javascript, .NET, Flash, XML, etc.)
- Knowledge of standard programs: Visio, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint,
Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, etc.
- Experience working with Quality Assurance to insure final output meets IA
requirements
- Experience with prototyping a plus

Academic Skills
- Complete understanding of usability guidelines and information architecture
best practices
- Understanding of how to construct user scenarios
- Ability to translate business requirements into Information Architecture
documents such as wire frames, site maps, and functional specifications
- Experience with task analysis, usability inspection methods, and testing
- Understanding of research techniques
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
