As a programmer, what qualifies you to talk about design?

The thing is, after ten years as a software developer followed
by eleven years as a web developer, programming is just one
of the many things I do now. Like you, I didn't stop being a
programmer (= knowing how to write software) just because I
learnt new skills.

Some of us can be good at more than one thing despite the label.
But I guess you know that already, huh.
