Chief UX Consultant, NJ | 140-160k Base | Paid Relo
Role:
The Chief Consultant in User Experience should be highly experienced in
all areas of the Sr. Consultant, User Experience role. You will also be
expected to provide both client and project team leadership as a
champion of the user perspective, from business development, through
vision, strategy, and project execution.
Above and beyond user research and design, specific responsibilities
include:
.Supporting the acquisition of new clients by promoting the value of
user research and information architecture in business development
contexts, contributing to sales presentations and proposals.
.Leading and growing existing client relationships / account teams.
.Proposing and delivering designs, across multiple releases that can be
implemented within constraints of time, budget, technology and client
processes.
.Facilitating subject matter interviews and other structured information
gathering sessions with executives and senior management in Global 1000
firms.
.Producing detailed user experience strategy documents in support of
enterprise and process portal initiatives.
.Advising and counseling clients on User Experience best practices in
support of the implementation of new processes, technologies, systems
and organizational structures.
.Developing innovative user experience methods, tools, intellectual
capital and reusable assets that improve operational excellence and
efficiency.
.Mentoring other consultants on the User Experience team as well as
consultants in other disciplines.
Experience Requirements:
The Chief UX Consultant must possess a successful business solution
design background, with strong Principal-level consultative and
presentation skills. The required knowledge and skills for the role
are:
.A Masters or Doctoral degree in human computer interaction, behavioral
and social sciences (e.g., cognitive psychology, anthropology, etc.),
interaction design, industrial design, or human factors, or significant
experience in the field.
.At least 7 years general consulting experience, with at least 3 years
in leading user experience initiatives, directing consulting engagements
and managing the analysis & design of complex solutions for broad
constituencies.
.Demonstrated UX leadership abilities, across the client enterprise and
in a multiple project environment that influences clients, team members,
stakeholders and leadership for successful outcomes.
.Exceptional communication skills with executive and C-level
constituents, including presentation, facilitation, oral, written and
conflict resolution.
.Demonstrable success in developing user experience strategies and
managing complex projects.
.Proven ability to innovate and structure complex solutions within the
context of web and portal development.
.Accomplishments in planning and management of detail project plans and
diverse teams.
.Proficiency with modeling processes, scenarios, business & workflow
knowledge, functional requirements and design specifications.
.Knowledge of enablers and constraints of technologies for web and
portal development.
.Experience with any or all of the following is a plus: Technologies:
enterprise portals, SAP, PeopleSoft. Business domains: Human Resources,
Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain.
