Interesting perhaps but certainly not reliable most of the time, for general
purpose audiences. 

I know some smart search engine/ad serving guys who spent better part of the
late 90s trying to unearth "intentions" of users as they traversed within
and among domains. "Intention engine" is how they internally referred to
their project. Needless to say the ad industry would pay enormous amounts of
money to anyone who can reliably deliver user intentions. They went through
several million dollars and at least two distinctly different strategies I
was aware of. The results weren't anything to write home about. It remains
as elusive for, say, Google as it was for them.
