another great hotel within walking distance is the Sylvia. 15 minutes or so to walk...maybe 20 but the view over English Bay is breathtaking. Not sure about rates.

Also for the more budget concious the Sandman is kind of a Vancouver chain -- think Days Inn etc. Rates may be better than any of the special rates that have been offered, but I'm unsure.
