applied?

The fabulous beauty of what was discovered by those who formulated the field 
of 'complexity' was that they came from absolutely non-related fields, but 
found that their own interests (which made them misfits in their own fields) 
made them common to one another.

Isn't that kindof where the field of IA fits, as well? So this would be a 
case of the 'hodge-podges' insisting on keeping out the 'hodge-podge'?
