[Sigia-l] Calling for examples: clothing retailers

My thoughts:

Patagonia recommendation: dead on. Easy to find products, easy to
buy. Good background on the company and philosophy. Good use of Ajax
- better experience instead of just showing they can use ajax.

Gap: Hate it! I no longer shop at their physical store because of
that site. If you can't make it cross-platform, don't bother.

Shop Composition: First time I've seen this one and I don't like it
too much. I don't like the horizontal scroll, I don't like waiting
for Flash to do all of its neat things before showing me content.
It's very pretty, but I'm not sold.

Transmit: I show people this all the time because it's so cool. I'm
not sure it's that usable or that I'd model a site after it, but it
sure is cool.

Some of this recommendation would depend on what you're selling
though. Does it require any configuration, what's the audience and
how much wow factor do they need, etc.
