Job Title: Dell.com Search IA Sr Consultant 
Job Description 
The Search IA Sr. Consultant will be a key lead in our ongoing improvements
for dell.com search. This role will include the following global
responsibilities:
* Develops and maintains the content organization/taxonomy used to catalog,
filter, search and retrieve our content assets (whether for products,
services, support, solutions or other learning).
* Classification & taxonomy: classifies all Dell.com content; maintains the
overall taxonomy; develops classification schemes, controlled vocabularies,
and thesauri.
* Nomenclature: Will recommend more user-centric nomenclature to support
consistent categorization across the site. 
* Metadata maintenance: Works with content editors so they understand where
their content should ultimately reside, and have those editors drive
metadata for the content operations teams; establishes and documents rules
for applying metadata.
* Navigation: Reviews and monitors assisted navigation so that content can
be found in the proper categories. 
* Search: Reviews search logs (in partnership with the search analysts) and
recommends adjustments for content tags/keywords based on user searches;
also works closely with search programs manager.
* Identifies new functionality needed to support better data management for
the site. 
* Works from results obtained from usability/user research.      
Qualifications  
The Search IA Sr. Consultant should possess the following skills: 
* Strong communication skills 
* Strong knowledge of end-user needs and requirements 
* Ability to drive alignment around taxonomies 
* Very strong attention to detail 
* Enthusiasm for information organization, categorization, and retrieval 
* Global experience preferred 
* In-depth knowledge of information architecture and user-centered design
processes, techniques, and tools 
* Understanding of content management systems and search engines
