I've always thought there are loads of cool things you could do along
these lines, even just with your grocery purchases.

For example:

"You purchased X calories for Y dollars. Here are recipes for Z meals,
for A amount of people, at B number of servings with C ingredients, D
calories per serving. By the way, E wine would go great with F and G
meals, purchase it now."

Many opportunities to learn more about what I'm buying, what I think
about it, and how I can use it. And, if I chose to, I could share this
information with the companies who sell the stuff, so they can get
better at selling me more stuff.
