One of the indisputable benefits of CSS is the speed and efficiency they
bring to the table (of production). As a professional, you ought to have a
toolbox of ready-made 'styles' to plug into the next project at hand. CSS
opens to door to re-use and re-use is a clear boost to speed. If God didn't
want designers to go faster he wouldn't have invented 'styles' in word
processors, graphics apps, page layout programs or HTML authoring
environments. If you want unadulterated speed, CSS is your friend.
