Tito,
I just realized that you responded to the digest mode. I didn't see it at
the time. Actually, I don't see my own post in my mailbox, either.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Morae. It seems to work in many
aspects and it's fairly inexpensive to set up. Our intranet team does have
a copy of Morae. They think it fits their needs.
It's interesting that you expect to see more testing will be done outside.
I think the technology is making it easier to facilitate such outside
testings. You do have quite a lab set up. What's your plan with the labs
in terms of hardware and software? Do you test any non-monitor-based
design, such as paper prototype, sketches, etc. which Morae will not
support?
Is there usability lab(s) out there that you consider as state-of-the-art?
Thank you again for your response.

As for the future, I expect to see more usability testing happening
*outside* the lab setting. For example, you can install Morae on a
laptop with a basic webcam and do "onsite" usability testing. Rather
then bring participants into your lab, why not go to them instead?
