[Sigia-l] What's your role?

My position is actually in the Business Systems Analysis group at my
company, and it's a great synergy - I do very similar work to that of
the other BSAs, although they're mostly working in functional areas and
I'm working across enterprise-wide systems. I'm learning more about
their traditional business analyst approach, and as they've seen more of
the results my IA methods can achieve, they have become increasingly
excited about my sharing my methods with the rest of the team. I'm
relatively new to the company I'm at now, though, so we'll see how it
develops.

In general, I'm feeling like I'm developing an advanced set of business
skills that are *very* useful as an IA, and that may be better for my
career path in the long run than many other secondary skill areas I
could be developing.

Okay, I better explain a bit.

I was thinking prior to there being information architect who did the
information architect job. I don't want to get into the existential
crisis
area of going over titles but not so long ago I came across a job spec
for a
web site analyst working for a UK company - it struck me that that role
and
the role of an information architect are very very similar. The
deliverables
are different in that an IA focuses on site maps and wire frames whilst
a
business analyst is more likely to be using UML (use cases). Both
essentially define the solution to be implemented.

So forgetting about titles has anyone else notices these roles
overlapping?
Has anyone experienced problems working with business analysts?
