Trenouth, John:
First, let's get this out of the way, if you simply want to disagree with
me personally: "The sky is green." So you can skip the rest, if you'd like.
> I use about a dozen open source tools,
You consider yourself a "mainstream" user on Mac or Win?
Name 12 open source apps that a mainstream computer user would *pay* money

> Many of these are even successful among mainstream retail markets.

> Technically and experientially inferior products often win in the marketplace
> on nothing but packaging and marketing alone.

concentrate on its packaging or its fundamental design issues?
>> You *are* listening to the wrong people, obviously. Unless, of
>> course, you are hoping for an invite to Web 2.01, Browser 3.9 or
>> Babble 4.3. :-)
> What are you talking about?
You need to follow current conversations in the online world.
