Earlier in this thread there were a number of people thinking we were
talking about the utility navigation class of links. People didn't know we
were talking about the class of links commonly found at the bottom of every
page of a site.

When I say "home page", we both have a pretty clear idea of what I'm
referring to, and we can thus commence a discussion on some aspect of it.

If instead I was thinking "home page", said "some page", and you thought
"search results page", and someone else thought "shopping cart checkout
page" ... then you can be pretty darn certain that any resultant
conversation would be very muddled. Right?

So, while we might well not need these labels to *do* our work, labels come
in very handy when we want to *communicate* about our work.
