I think Ziya makes an important point about Wintel. Though I'm a Mac
user, and would use OmniGraffle or another Mac tool if left to my own
devices, I spend 80% of my IA time in Visio on a PC. Why? Because the
developers and project managers at the companies that hire me are on
PCs, and want to be able to edit the documents if need be.

I'm all for pressuring Visio/Omni to make a better product, but think
it would be even better if one of them was cross-platform, allowing
designers and developers to use the same tool in their chosen
environments. If I could say goodbye to the days of having two laptops
in front of me for conference calls (or running Virtual PC), I would be
the happiest IA in the land.
