I have to ditto Ziya's statement.

We have one at my organization and I HATE it! loath it! and wish it
would go away. As someone who has been on both sides of these tools,
I'll go w/ .doc/.pdf and "take the hit" as an employer instead of
forcing recruits to jump through this most annoying hoop. I have to
have the resume anyway ...

I have seen systems that are able to upload .doc and .txt and then
parse it into fields using intelligence algorithms.
