[Sigia-l] check boxes versus multi-select lists

Just to throw my two cents into this conversation...

Once again, I will beat the drum that it all depends on the target audience
of the application you are working on.  Basically speaking, if it is
intended for the public at large, then use check boxes instead of the
multi-select.

However, if your audience is "canned", ask them.  You may be surprised by
the answer.  Every application where I have had a canned audience, they all
prefer the multi-select versus the large list of check boxes.

Then again, in pretty much any situation, you need to do what the users
want, or you are just setting yourself up for failure.
