As Ziya pointed out, one of the interesting points Gladwell raises in
Blink is the difficulty people have expressing preference.  This has
implications for how we as designers measure acceptance of our designs
- with stakeholders and customers.  The act of simply asking someone
to explain their preference causes that preference to shift
unpredictably.  Obviously, we can still rely on people voting with
their feet or their wallets, but that is usually to late in the game
to change course...

In a related note, I listened to an interview with Jeff Bezos where he
explained that the performance of Amazon's search is measured purely
in terms of sales - not the usual precision/recall measures used in
LIS. They test different configuations in parallel and judge the
winner based on which drives the most sales.
