[Sigia-l] Sharepoint as Knowledge Management/Collaboration tool?

Folks:
I want to hear experiences of those who have worked on Sharepoint 2.0
(and Office2003 suite) deployment, or using it as user at their work.
I want to hear the "grand vision" that your organization has with
Sharepoint, and how successfully they are meeting them. I also want to
hear about other theories (about the evil empire of Microsoft).
But here's something that will help me with specific example,
framework, papers that you found useful, and want to share --
- How is it helping your organization to create collaboration (as
opposed to document repository)?
- How did you create Taxonomy for the whole organization?
- How are you leveraging, say (in lack of better word), Findability?
- Enterprise Portal - how you classify navigation - Org Chart,
Employees (Active Directory)???
- Any experience with connecting SharePoint with transactional data
(Siebal, Peoplesoft, etc.)
- Is your organization allowing you to use "My Site" as your shared drive?
- What are the biggest challenges, limitation of this technology?
And finally, why will it not work?
Any feedbacks, red herring, case studies, pointers will help.
Thanks,
prady
