Ziya asked: how much would I be prepared to pay for podcasts...
I pay $20 per month for audible.com, I would certainly pay $20 per month
for Napster to go or Rhapsody to go if my player were compatible, I buy
lectures all the time from the Teaching Company, so for sure I would pay
$20 per month for quality IT lectures. Mind you, radio is free (BBC,
NPR, CBC all have awesome podcasts) and a lot of podcasts carry
advertising so they can remain free.
I also pay comparable fees for several other digital services, such as
Highbeam research, Scientific American Digital, various subscriptions.
The logic of the Web today seems to be towards charging for quality
content, or selling advertising on quality content, and I'm good with
that and so I think are millions of others. It's finding the quality
content that's the challenge - and I guess that's part of what we're
trying to solve on this list.

How much would you agree to pay for it, if it weren't free?
