That reflects a common abuse of usability testing. Some of the
so-called designers rely on usability test score to the point of
designing by numbers - they ignore the hypothesis and let their design
be driven by whatever having the best test score. Thus, people
exchange test scores and forget about the hypothesis. But real
designers need the hypothesis.
Furthermore, "This tests well." is not even a hypothesis. It may
explain why someone recommends something. But it is not a hypothesis
supporting the test result.
