Call me a pragmatic designer from the trenches, but (as also mentioned in
the article) both systems could exist next to each other. Compare it with
temperature (a more simple system but just as an illustration).
Scientifically Kelvin is a better scale, but for pragmatic and historic
reasons the Fahrenheit and Celcius scale still exist. Of course you would
need to agree on precise conversion rules.
