[Sigia-l] "Better by Design"

I'm a sucker for behind-the-scenes documentaries, whether it's a political
campaign, a studio recording session or, in this case, industrial design.
I've been watching "Better by Design" Channel 4/Design Council productions
featuring (Richard) Seymour and (Dick) Powell.

They tackle everything from bras to economy-class airplane seat redesign.
The process of research, requirements gathering, conceptualization,
prototyping, presentation, etc. that happens in industrial product design is
virtually the same as one would engage in IA work. Episodes are a bit too
short at 30 mins so they become somewhat truncated and formulaic for me, but
if your work involves overall app design I recommend "Better by Design" in
reruns on PBS here.

I'm wondering:

1. When they were shown in the U.K. were the episodes longer?
2. Was the series liked in the U.K.?
2. Has anyone watched them in the U.S.?
