Daniela, thanks for summarizing this helpful information. I’m struck by how
much work it is to create the realistic estimate itself. 

Getting clients to appreciate the value of — and pay for — scoping a project
is always a challenge. I’d like to hear how IAs — both internal and
consultants — estimate the time/budget needed to reach the point of a
realistic estimate (or firm bid)? - Kathleen

It's almost like people preferred NOT knowing the scope of the project, just
so it would seem manageable… I worked on such a project for 9 months, and
that didn't include actual migration of content.

I've seen it take place in one day, and I've led projects where it took four
people approx. 5 weeks to migrate 1200 pages of content.
