At the moment, I'm not in nostalgically elegant Vienna or even aggressively
interesting New York, just stuck with barely literate workers at a small
'construction' site. We're all trying to communicate and finally finish a
house reconstruction/landscaping project. So I'm most definitely in a
'pragmatic' state of mind. :-)

After all the historical and theoretical detours, the author comes back to
two simple words: it depends.

It depends not on us the creators (armed with self interest, theories, best
practices, fads, etc) but on the context of the usage. Is there more there
than that?
