Well, from the user perspective, it's only a link to another page with 
contextual information. And users are used to interact with this kind of
context links/info everyday (foot references inside documents, i.e.).

It seems to be the right concept, but I think I've seen a so far better
implementation. You can see it live at

http://demo.plone.org/search_form

That's the Plone CMS Forms contextual information method. It presents
contextual info to the user, explaining the form and its parameters, but
without interfere in the task they are already doing.
