Pabini,
I throw in mine:
1. what are the quality aspects of metadata and how do you measure them?
Right now I have found the following aspects:
- aboutness: the extend to which the information really explains
something about the category it is in
- basic-levelness: how easy or difficult is it for the end user to
immediately and unambiguous understand what is meant with the category
- subject versus context classification: information can be classified
according to its subject but also according to the context in which it
is relevant
- relevance: to what extend does the classification only point to
information that helps end users reach their goals
Are there others? How do you measure these qualities?
2. what is the development method for metadata? I know Rosenfeld &
Morville's method but personally I think it has some omissions. For
example I see few steps from user centred design in there.
3. what interfaces support which information retrieval? Of course we
have Marti Hearst's research after faceted interfaces. Is there other,
comparable research?
