[Sigia-l] The Asis.org website

Hello,

I was just reviewing the Asis.org site (the domain that hosts this list)
and it seemed to me that the site was made in an ad-hoc fashion. I was
lead to believe this because of the following:

- No consistency in the design or layout
	* When navigating through the site I thought I was entering
other domains because the look changed so dramatically
	* Information seems to be presented haphazardly
- Absence of a well-defined navigation scheme
- When jumping to member sites, there is no clear path back to ASIS
besides the browser back button

One could go on to say the look and feel of the site is also lacking,
but I am not sure if an aesthetically pleasing site was the goal.
However, I am sure they were aiming for a good layout and general
usability.

This post is not meant as a flame, but instead a poll for those who
would like to agree or disagree with my statements.

If the general consensus agrees with me, then perhaps we (as
beneficiaries of this list) could put our IA know-how to use, and create
a simple suggestion list for the ASIS.org web team. I would be happy to
compile the list.

I am pressed for time now, but when I am free again, I will weigh in
with my suggestions.
