I should've clarified. My emphasis was on exploring multiple solutions,
not on having clients choose which one is correct.

For all the reasons Peter mentions.

But I do think there's value in being forced to think through alternate
solutions as a matter of course. That's where testing and other user
feedback can help figure out which of the good solutions is the best
solution.

The problem is I've seen projects where people locked in on a solution
early on and never strayed too far from it. So even though it was a good
(or more likely "good enough") solution, there wasn't consideration given
to whether there might be better solutions.
