I'm not really out to evangelize these products (though I could..:) because
the point is really around value and maturity of products. 

In this respect I think all three of the products I mentioned (Notes,
application servers such as coldfusion and Zope) offer good value for money
with what you get out of the box, especially the solidity and flexibility of
the toolsets provided. Just as a point, Notes / Domino offers a lot more
than email out of the box and has a feature set that puts most CMS to shame,
but I won't evangelise...except that bit about putting CMS to shame.

Anyway, in comparison, major CMS vendors have not done a lot to convince me
that what they provide offers very good value for money out of the box. And
the costs compare very unfavourable with the above. Especially with Zope!
