At my old job, my IA duties fell under an area of Web Operations called 
Marketing.  The idea being the faster we can get people to the information 
they want (or think they want), the better we can sell related service & 
snag some revenue.

Anywhere where there are people at the tops of their field (however 
budding), thinking aloud, sharing links to resources & new tools, etc. is a 
good place to learn and stay connected.
