Please see my other post. Specificity in job reqs is inversely proportional
to job growth, responsibility, enjoyment, etc.

Please see above. Job req: Must know Java. Dilemma: Do you want to hire a
guy who can read/write Java code or one who can think in terms of
application design and objects? Short-term, shortsighted thinking: We need a
Java guy, so hire the first guy, worry about other stuff later.
